Shikanoshima Island

This island is popular not only as a destination for marine sports but also as the place where the Golden Seal was discovered. The Siomi Observation platform offers a commanding view of the Genkai Sea during the day, and of the Fukuoka cityscape at night. Also you can visit Shikaumi Shrine and a monument of the Manyo-shu (anthology of Japanese poetry).
